Word-environment

The parents must be immersed in God’s word enough that their spontaneous conversation is about it.

How much?  So much that the conversation of the parents will be more dominant and more attractive than what is on television and in the movies and on the computer.  The Kingdom of God is more beautiful than the world, and if the child does not see that with his own eyes then the parents are not living in the Kingdom.

Conservative parents often recognize that the entertainment environment is corrosive and ugly for their children.  Good for them.  So they limit television and movies and the computer.  But this is only half the battle and can be a set-up for the child to adopt the view that home is boring while other kids’ homes are fun.   Suppressing the bad must be balanced by increasing the good, or the child will just explore the world when he leaves home.
